Interesting Sidelight on the Canal Expansion

The Panama Canal widening project is controversial but the New York Times has an interesting article in the unexpected scientific bonanza from the excavation that is now underway.

Yes, I cite the New York times a lot.  That and the Washington Post are about the only online mainstream media I read regularly because given my cynicism about politics, world affairs and human beings in general, I find I don’t need other material–I’m capable of reading between the lines.  I usually find the foreign press more substantive.
